Three US service members killed, five seriously wounded in Iranian attack: CENTCOM

Srinagar 1 March: Three United States service members have been killed in action and five others seriously wounded as part of Operation Epic Fury, the US Central Command (CENTCOM) said on Saturday.

In an update issued at 9:30 am ET, CENTCOM said several additional personnel sustained minor shrapnel injuries and concussions and are in the process of being returned to duty.

“Major combat operations continue and our response effort is ongoing,” the statement said, describing the situation as fluid.

CENTCOM added that further details, including the identities of the fallen service members, will be withheld for 24 hours after next of kin have been notified.

The command said it was limiting the release of information out of respect for the families of those killed in action.
