Three mute sisters of silent village of India inspiring others to cast their vote tomorrow

Gandoh April 18 :In Gandoh village of district Doda, three sisters are surprising their family and neighbours by suddenly developing enthusiasm to vote.

Situated 9000-ft above sea level in a village of around 84 deaf and mute residents, three mute sisters have taken upon themselves to motivate people of their community to vote ahead of the Lok Sabha polls in the region.

Their village Gandoh falls under Doda-Udhampur parliamentary constituency which is going to vote tomorrow at 07:00am.

Reshma Bano (24), Parveen Kousar (22), and Saira Khatoon (20), daughters of Reham Ali have become a source of inspiration for people in their neighbourhood and their family. The sisters have been lately engaged in using sign languages to motivate others to vote, their father Ali said.

"They bring their voter Id cards and show them to the people who visit our house," Ali said.

Ali's daughters have added another exercise to their daily chores.

"After praying dawn prayers, cooking breakfast, they put on their best clothes and go out to people with their voting cards, inspiring them to vote," said Ali.

This has been their routine for last 15-days, he said.

"Despite their disability, they have become a source of inspiration for all of us," Jamat Danis, their neighbour said.

"Their eagerness and enthusiasm is bringing a positive energy to all of us," Danis said.
