Three KPS officers promoted to Superintendent of Police Selection Grade-II
Srinagar, Nov 02: The Government of Jammu and Kashmir has ordered the promotion of three Jammu and Kashmir Police Service (JKPS) officers to the grade of Superintendent of Police (Selection Grade-II) in Level 12 of the Pay Matrix (₹78,800–₹2,09,200).
As per Government Order No. 525-Home of 2025, dated November 1, 2025, the promotions were approved following recommendations of the Selection Committee-I, held on July 3, 2025, and subsequent communications from the Crime Investigation Department (CID).
Those promoted include Mohd Yousuf (JKPS:2001), whose promotion has been granted notionally with effect from December 24, 2024, and regularly with immediate effect. Pardeep Singh (JKPS:2008) and Brijesh Kumar Sharma (JKPS:2008) have been promoted with immediate effect.
The Home Department clarified that the promotions are subject to the outcome of any writ petitions pending before competent courts.
The order, issued under the approval of the Lieutenant Governor, was signed by Principal Secretary to the Government, Chandraker Bharti (IAS). Copies of the order have been forwarded to the Director General of Police J&K, Principal Secretary to the Lieutenant Governor, and other concerned offices for necessary action. [KNT]
