Three days after going missing, 9-year-old boy found dead in Tral orchards

Srinagar, Aug 29: The body of nine-year-old boy who went missing on Aug 25 from Gujar Basti, Saimoh in south Kashmir's Tral was found today in a nearby forest, officials said.

Quoting officials, news agency NVI reported that they found the semi-decomposed body of the tribal boy from Gujar Basti, Saimoh, in an orchard in Sirnoo today.

Officials said that the body was taken by police into their custody even as the forensic team was on their way to conduct an examination.

The missing report for the boy was filed at police station Tral on August 25, 2024, the official said.

His death is being investigated, said the official.

The boy has been identified as Idrees Jan Bajad (09), son of Ali Jan Bajad, a resident of Gujjar Basti, Sirnoo, Tral.
