Thousands of devotees participate in annual Urs of Shahdara Sharif shrine

Rajouri, July 17: Thousands of devotees drawn from different walks of life participated in annual Urs Mubarakh of Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah shrine located at Shahdara Sharif in Thanamandi sub division of Rajouri district.

The two days long annual Urs is convened every year with religious zeal and enthusiasm and devotees as well as religious scholars from across the country take part in it.

The 218th Annual Urs of shrine was organised for two days and it concluded on Tuesday evening with a heavy rush of devotees was witnessed in it while the event was organised under the umbrella of Auqaf Islamic.

Religious scholar Moulana Mohammad Farooq Niami said that BGSB shrine of pious Sufi Saint Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah Sahib is attached with religious emotions of crores of people of this country and not only people from Muslim community but people from other faiths of life also pay obeisance at this shrine.

He informed that special prayers for peace and harmony were offered during this 218th Urs Mubarakh of shrine while religious scholars and preachers from across the country delivered sermons.

He also appealed the devotees who visit the shrine to maintain the sanctity and refrain from doing anything which is against religious as well as moral values.
