In a world that often prioritizes logic and reason, emotional sensitivity is a trait that has been both celebrated and misunderstood. It's a quality that enables individuals to perceive and empathize with the emotions of others, playing a crucial role in building meaningful relationships, fostering empathy, and promoting personal growth.

This state involves experiencing emotions more intensely than others. The feelings of love, joy, happiness, sorrows and fears among emotionally sensitive people are stronger than in the normal range of humans. It refers to a person's heightened awareness and responsiveness to their emotions. It involves the ability to perceive, understand, and empathize with the feelings of others. When you are emotionally sensitive, you may struggle to manage your emotions efficiently, and you might find yourself struggling daily to cope. At times, you may lack self-trust because you cannot predict how you will react in different situations.

People with this kind of feeling often experience rejection sensitivity and can anticipate rejection even when it may not be present. They are intuitive thinkers who may struggle to verbalize what's on their minds; they know what they know but find it challenging to express.

There are both positive and negative aspects to this kind of sensitivity. These people often appreciate their ability to sense how others feel and their passion for helping others. However, managing sadness, fear, and jealousy can be a struggle. Being different from others in the intensity of feelings can be difficult to manage, which can lead to self- doubt. Such mixed feelings sometimes create emotional states of loneliness, self-hatred, frustration, and anxiety.

This sensitivity also involves being in touch with one's own emotions. This self- awareness allows individuals to recognize their strengths and weaknesses, leading to personal growth and self-improvement. Simultaneously, not everyone possesses the same level of sensitivity, which can lead to misunderstandings when an emotionally sensitive person expects others to be as attuned to emotions as they are.

People with this state are frequently misunderstood; they possess a deep understanding of others' feelings, but not everyone reciprocates this empathy. These individuals often experience frequent mood swings and can be greatly affected by various life situations. As a result, their self-esteem takes a hit, leading to feelings of insecurity and loneliness. Communication issues are common in their relationships, which can erode trust.

Those who identify as strong, apathetic, and swaggering individuals often mock sensitive people for their insecurities, whether it's mainly for amusement or personal gain, without considering the emotional toll they may be inflicting on others. This behaviour fails to acknowledge the genuine strength that lies in sensitivity.

Emotionally sensitive people are usually calm and prefer silence over turbulence. They possess a higher level of patience and can navigate negative situations effectively. While it may take some time for them to recover from a mental breakdown, they return stronger and more courageous than before. They are their therapists and motivators, knowing that no one can uplift them like they can themselves.

For the most part, I aim to debunk stereotypes about emotionally sensitive people. These individuals are not limited to being just therapists, artists, or educators. Being an emotionally sensitive person myself, I aim to raise awareness about the challenges faced by people like us.
