New Delhi, Mar 23: Walking through the congested and busy streets of Old Delhi, one is bound to come across colourful carts laden with “Banta Soda”, a glass bottle with a marble stopper as a lid holding the fizz of lemon beverage announcing the arrival of early summer. Once a cherished refreshment for children of the 1960s, ’70s, and ’80s, this iconic drink gradually lost ground to global soft drink brands from the 1990s onward. Yet, its nostalgic charm endures, offering a refreshing glimpse into a bygone era.

However, the pop sound of Goli or Banta Soda—the cherished childhood pop sound that once resonated through Indian streets—is making waves again. This time, it is not just in the bustling by-lanes of India but across the world. The Ministry of Commerce & Industry has proudly announced the global revival of this homegrown favourite, rebranded as “Goli Pop Soda”, now delighting Indian diaspora and global consumers alike.

Rechristened as “Goli Pop Soda”, a new soft drink brand, has successfully entered international markets, with shipments reaching the USA, UK, Europe, and Gulf nations. The brand’s presence at the International Food & Drink Event (IFE) London 2025, held from March 17-19, provided further momentum. APEDA showcased Goli Pop Soda to global buyers, paving the way for future collaborations and strengthening India’s influence in the international food and beverage industry.
