New Delhi, Dec 8: The Royal Thai Army says it has carried out airstrikes along its disputed border with Cambodia after fresh clashes erupted on Monday morning, reports BBC.

Thailand reported that one soldier was killed and four others were injured when Cambodian forces allegedly opened fire on its troops.

Cambodia, however, rejected the accusation, claiming Thai forces initiated the attack and insisting its own troops did not retaliate. Fighting has been reported in Thailand’s Si Sa Ket and Ubon Ratchathani provinces, as well as in Cambodia’s Preah Vihear and Oddar Meanchey provinces.

Both governments have accused each other of violating a ceasefire brokered earlier by Malaysia and US President Donald Trump.

Tensions between the neighbours have been simmering since a fierce five-day conflict in July, which left at least 48 people dead and forced around 300,000 people from their homes.
