Tezmaal T20 cricket tournament begins
Srinagar, July 26: The Season-2 of Tezmaal T20 Cricket Tournament for Boys Under-19 age group was today inaugurated by the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar, Dr Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat at TRC Ground Srinagar.
The tournament sponsored by Landmark Crafts and organized by Orzu Sports and Cultural Trust with the support of local youths of Srinagar is aimed at promoting brotherhood and unity.
Speaking on the occasion, the DC said that there is no alternative to sports, it teaches us a lot many things subconsciously be it group dynamism, communication skills, passion, empathy, etc. In short, it teaches us the value system.
A total of 16 teams are participating in the tournament with the final match to be played on August 4.
Divisional Sports Officer, many dignitaries and social activists besides a large number of locals attended the inauguration ceremony.
It was given out that the winners of the tournament would be given one lakh as a cash prize, while the runner-up team would be given a cash prize of Rs 50,000. Further, Man of the Match will be given Trophies, and Certificates will be given to all the Team Members.
