Terrorist associate held with arms, ammunition in Awantipora: Police

Srinagar, Dec 22: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Monday said that it along with security forces have arrested a terrorist associate in Wuyan Khrew area of Awantipora and recovered arms & ammunition from his possession.

In a handout to GNS, the police said that the Awantipora Police along with Army 50 RR and CRPF 185 Bn during CASO at Wuyan Khrew, arrested one terrorist associate identified as Javid Ahmad Hajam son of Abdul Rashid Hajam resident of Gulab Bagh Tral. During search, arms and ammunition including 01 Pistol, 05 live rounds of ⁠pistol was recovered from his possession.

It is pertinent to mention here that, the arrested terrorist associate is involved in providing logistics support and transportation of arms & ammunition to the terrorists in Pampore, Tral and Awantipora areas of Police District Awantipora.

Accordingly a case under relevant sections of law have been registered and investigation has been initiated, reads the statement.
