Terrorist associate arrested in Baramulla: Police

Baramulla, Nov 17: Police today said that the security forces on Sunday evening arrested a terrorist associate at Janbazpora area in Baramulla outskirts.

An official said that on the basis of some inputs about the movement of the terrorist associate, a joint naka was set up by JK Police and Indian Army near Janbazpora area. He said that one terrorist associate identified as Showkat Ahmad Bhat from Naganad DH Pora, Kulgam, was arrested at a frisking point.

"An AK-47 rifle, a magazine, and other ammunition were recovered from his possession," the official said. The terrorist associate, police said, was missing for the last week.

"The investigations have been started and he is being interrogated by the security forces to reveal.his plans," the official said. The official further said that any terrorist or his associate does not carry a rifle without any assignment.

"Carrying a rifle with him means that he might have been on some assignment to target any one or something relevant to it. He is being questioned and we are expecting some breakthrough," the official said.
