Terrorism, drug peddling equally dangerous: J&K DGP
Jammu, Mar 06: Director General of Police (DGP) J&K Nalin Prabhat today said that terrorism and drug peddling are equally grave threats to the society and said, “I would rate fight against drugs and fight against terrorism on equal pedestal”.
DGP emphasized the need for a collective societal effort to curb the rising menace of drug abuse.
Speaking at Thana Diwas in Jammu, the DGP Nalin Prabhat highlighted that drug trafficking is an organized crime network, with narcotics being smuggled from western regions through the Pakistan border, allegedly controlled by ISI.
"Police and law enforcement agencies are actively addressing the issue, but society must step forward. Even school children, in uniform, are found selling small bags of drugs and other contraband substance. There is a lack of supervision and control from parents and society at large," he remarked.
