Rajouri, Dec 21: Mentioning about use of technological intervention and measures besides establishment of new army and police camps at upper reaches as a part of heightened security measures, General Officer in Commanding (GOC) White Knight Corps Lt Gen Naveen Sachdeva said that terrorism is almost over in Pir Panjal region and few apprehensions of terrorism are due to help extended from other side of Line of Control (LoC).

GOC White Knight Corps Lt Gen Sachdeva was addressing a peace committee and civil - military liaison meeting conducted at Advanced Landing Ground (ALG) Rajouri by Ace of Spades Division.

" Terrorism is almost over from this area (Rajouri and Poonch) and only few apprehensions of terrorism left here are only due to support and help made from other side of LoC," said Lt Gen Sachdeva while addressing this gathering saying that he has received these feedbacks from civil society of Rajouri and Poonch during last one month.

He added, " Everyone here, especially the civil population, wants peace and the army, police , civil administration and civil society is jointly working for this."

He also mentioned dominance attained by security forces in the area on the anti-terror front.

"You are witnessing a calm and peaceful situation in the area which everyone wants and security forces are maintaining a dominating hand over the situation, " Lt Gen said.

He also discussed heightened security measures taken in the region.

"New camps of army and SoG (Police) have been opened especially in upper reaches and you (civil society) yourself are accepting at least 200-300% increase in domination and action of forces," the Army GOC of White Knight Corps said.

"You people have also witnessed a multifold increase in night domination of forces," he said.

Lt Gen Naveen Sachdeva also discussed use of latest technologies and other technological interventions in security setup.

"Use of helicopters, sensors, and Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) are among many technological interventions made by forces in security setup," he added.

He further assured the civil society members that all the security forces, with a close and strengthened synergy, will ensure maintenance of peace and order in the region.
