Responding to media queries after handing over appointment letters to Next of Kin (NoK) of victims of terrorism of Jammu division at the Convention Centre, Jammu, LG Sinha reiterated the commitment of his administration to ensure the dissemination of justice to all terror-victim families of Jammu and Kashmir and said that the terror perpetrators would not be spared, in any case.

“Many such cases have been reopened. There are certain cases where testimonies or evidence are not available, or there is difficulty in collecting them. In all those cases, senior officers have been given instructions that those incidents which are in the knowledge of everyone or about which the information is there in the public domain, should be investigated so as to bring the culprits to justice,” the LG said.

He said that the administration was very sensitive to the plight of terror victims and was taking every step possible to undo the injustice to them.

“It is true that many people lost their lives due to terrorism. Their properties were damaged. In many cases, even the FIRs were not registered. So, the administration is looking into all such cases in earnest. It is working with great sensitivity to resolve those cases and provide the desired succour to victim families,” LG Sinha said.

“Even if there is any genuine case left out, it will be taken up. It is a continuous process. All those job cases are also being processed. In the days to come, NoK of those left out terror-victim families too will be provided with government jobs,” he said.

The LG said that in those cases, where FIRs were not registered earlier, fresh FIRs were being registered to initiate an investigation.

“Fresh FIRs are being registered in cases where they were not registered earlier, and an investigation is being launched. The process to punish all those perpetrators is underway, and it will be an unrelenting process,” he said.

LG Sinha said that the government was working in a mission mode to reach out to all terror victims and redress their accumulated grievances.

“As this is known to you all that when J&K was caught in the vortex of terrorism, a large number of citizens of J&K were killed by the terrorists. We had initiated a campaign to provide government jobs to the NoK of such terror-victim families from July 13, 2025. Earlier, many such persons were handed over job appointment letters in this auditorium only,” he said.

“Today, yet again, 41 such individuals, whose relatives were killed by the terrorists, have been provided with government jobs. Besides, the appointment letters have been handed over to 22 beneficiaries in age relaxation cases and 19 wards of J&K Police martyrs under Compassionate Appointment Rules SRO-43 and Rehabilitation Assistance Scheme (RAS),” the LG said.

He said that stringent legal action would be taken against those peddling fake or separatist narratives to vitiate the atmosphere or working against the integrity and sovereignty of the country.
