Anantnag, Nov 3: All India Congress Committee (AICC) General Secretary and legislator G A Mir on Sunday said that recent terror-related incidents in Jammu and Kashmir should be regarded as matters of internal security, not as obstacles to the restoration of the region's statehood.

"Following the successful conclusion of parliamentary elections, several incidents have occurred, leading some to speculate that these might be attempts to derail assembly polls. However , the elections were held, as per the Supreme Court's directive and passed on peacefully. These recent incidents should similarly be viewed strictly as security concerns and not as grounds for delaying the restoration of statehood to J&K." Mir said.

“This is all together "a separate demand and our right. I hope that the matter would be addressed in the upcoming parliamentary session without delay or further debate,” he said

Mir acknowledged that despite the formation of the government formally there has been limited change in the administrative structure thus far.

However, he anticipated change following the upcoming assembly session.

“The people here have democratically expressed their desire for change. Although the ten-year-long bureaucratic structure persists, I am optimistic that once the assembly session concludes, the administration will begin functioning under directives from the Chief Minister,” he said.

Mir highlighted the cooperative efforts of the administrative setup in the past and expressed confidence in its future collaboration with legislators and ministers.

"I trust that the officers are preparing to work with us and address urgent public issues," he said.

Earlier in his address, Mir thanked voters from the Dooru constituency for re-electing him and pledged to advocate for their concerns.

"I will soon conduct a review meeting with district and block administration officials to ensure your voices are heard," he assured.
