TERROR ATTACK FALLOUT | Vigil beefed up, hunt to crackdown attackers continues
Srinagar, Nov 1: While the hunt to track down the attackers involved in the three recent terror attacks continues, vigil across Kashmir has been beefed up to thwart any such incident.
Two civilians were killed and a Police officer was grievously injured in the three terror attacks in Pulwama, Baramulla, and Srinagar during the past three days.
Leads to track down the attackers are being developed and surveillance on suspected persons has been increased.
“We are investigating and soon the attackers will be brought to book,” a senior officer said. “Surveillance on suspects has also been increased.”
In the backdrop of the back-to-back terror attacks, vigil across Kashmir has been beefed up and speculative Cordon and Search Operations (CASOs) are being carried out.
The senior Police officer said that these types of attacks attract a greater security response. “We have intensified the measures in type and number wherever we thought necessary,” he said.
Additional checkpoints have come across Srinagar and other places in Kashmir to keep a tab on the movement.
“The security is very stringent and the searches have been intensified. Police and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) parties have been patrolling and random searches of vehicles are also being carried out,” officials said here.
Besides, the number of bulletproof mobile bunker vehicles deployed at sensitive places has also increased and high-tech CCTV surveillance enhanced.
The counter-insurgency operations by the forces have also been intensified.
The security forces are also keeping a watch, including night domination in the areas where migrant workers in large numbers reside.
