New Delhi, Mar 6: A tragic incident has emerged, where a 30-year-old man, fell victim to a deceptive recruitment scheme and lost his life on the frontlines of Russia's war with Ukraine, as reported by The Indian Express.

Initially seeking a job opportunity in Moscow, Afsan was deceived into believing he would work in the Russian government offices. However, he was instead coerced into combat duty in Ukraine, endangering his life, according to his family's account to The Indian Express earlier this week. Describing the deceitful recruitment process, Afsan's brother, Mohammed Imran, revealed to The Indian Express that promises of a lucrative salary and potential citizenship enticed Afsan and others. Despite landing in Moscow in November, Afsan's communication ceased after a distressing video call from the Russia-Ukraine border on December 31, leaving his family in anguish.

Tragically, Afsan was not the only victim from Telangana. Mohammed Sufiyan, 23, similarly ensnared by promises of better earnings, found himself in Moscow in December, as detailed in another report by The Indian Express.
