TBS lifts 4th Canon Invitational football trophy
Srinagar, Sep 22: Tyndale Biscoe School (TBS) clinched the 4th C.E. Canon Invitational Football Tournament title on home turf, defeating Delhi Public School (DPS) Srinagar 1-0 in a closely fought final at the TBS Main Field.
As per a statement, the gracious presence of the chief guest, Director of TBMS and Secretary of the Diocese of Amritsar Rahul Rex Kaul; guests of honour, former Director Parvez Samuel Kual, Retd Justice Muzaffar Jan, eminent educationist Mrs Joyce Kaul, Managing Director of Genius Career Consultancy Shabir Hussain Beigh, Mohammad Yasin SDPO Kothi Bagh, Adil Rashid SHO Kothi Bagh, international football coach Sajid Yousuf Dar, AFC Pro licence coach Bilal Rasool Parray, Principal of TBMS Mabel Yonzon, Principal of TKVS Roy Mathews, and Headmaster of TBMS Tangmarg Aftab Ahmad Shah added grandeur to the final match.
The atmosphere was electrifying as students, staff, alumni, and football enthusiasts gathered in large numbers to witness the exciting clash between two of the strongest teams of the tournament. Both sides entered the field with high spirits, determined to lift the coveted trophy.
Both teams displayed remarkable skills, team spirit, and sportsmanship, keeping the spectators on the edge of their seats. The crowd erupted in cheers with every move, and the energy at the TBS ground was unmatched.
The final turned out to be a true footballing spectacle, reflecting the commitment, discipline, and passion of the young players. It was not only a contest for supremacy but also a celebration of talent and sportsmanship that the tournament has always stood for.
Tyndale Biscoe School scored the goal in the second half and won the 4th invitational C.E. Canon trophy by 1-0.
The second half intensified the excitement as DPS made desperate attempts to equalise, but TBS displayed discipline and resilience. The home crowd erupted in joy as TBS sealed the victory, emerging as the champions of the 4th C.E. Canon Invitational Football Tournament.
The hero of the match was Nabeel Bilal of TBS, whose brilliant performance turned the game in his team’s favour. For his outstanding contribution, he was declared the Man of the Match.
