Tax filing and planning now made simpler with new JioFinance app feature

Mumbai, Aug 11: JioFinance has introduced a new tax planning and filing module on its app, aiming to make Income Tax Return (ITR) filing simpler, smarter, and more affordable for taxpayers in India.

A statement that developed in partnership with TaxBuddy, an online tax advisory and filing platform, the feature offers a guided, digital-first experience with built-in compliance and expert support. It combines two key services—Tax Planner and Tax Filing. The Tax Planner projects and reduces future tax liabilities through personalised deduction mapping, Housing Rent Allowance evaluation, and comparisons between the old and new tax regimes. The Tax Filing feature addresses common errors such as missing deductions under sections like 80C and 80D, and offers both self-service options starting at Rs 24 and expert-assisted filing starting at Rs 999.

“With the tax deadline approaching, our goal is to remove the complexity people often face with tax filing, while also empowering them to optimise their liabilities through effective planning,” said Hitesh Sethia, Managing Director and CEO of Jio Financial Services. “This integration offers a seamless, transparent, and affordable way to manage taxes via the JioFinance App.”

After filing, users can monitor return status, track refunds, and receive alerts for any tax-related notices directly through the app.

The interface is designed to be simple and intuitive, even for those with no prior tax filing experience. From entering income details to uploading documents and selecting the right tax regime, the process is fully guided. This launch adds another significant feature to the JioFinance App’s expanding suite of offerings, reinforcing its position as a one-stop digital financial destination for customers across India.
