Tawi Riverfront phase-I completion by Jan 2025: LG
Jammu, Nov 25: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha Monday said that phase I of the Tawi Riverfront project is expected to be completed by January 2025.
Conducting the on-site inspection and reviewing the progress of the Tawi Riverfront project, the LG directed the officers and implementing agencies to accelerate the pace of work for the completion of the prestigious project in a time-bound manner.
Interacting with the media persons, the LG said: “The work on the first phase of this flagship project under Jammu Smart City is expected to be completed by January 2025.”
He said that the Tawi Riverfront project would expand the tourism potential of Jammu.
“Many other projects and initiatives like Jambu Zoo, Light and Sound Show, and Temple of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams have already been completed to further increase the tourism potential of Jammu division,” LG Sinha said.
“Around 5000-6000 people are visiting Suchetgarh and Tirumala Tirupati Temple every day. The number is increasing during the weekend. Efforts are being made to create more such destinations in Jammu city and Jammu region with the assistance of the Government of India. I congratulate Jammu Smart City, it was a difficult project, I hope that the people of Jammu will enjoy the Tawi Riverfront,” he said.
The LG was accompanied by Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo, Additional Chief Secretary Jal Shakti Department Shaleen Kabra, Principal Secretary to LG Mandeep Bhandari, and Commissioner Secretary Housing and Urban Development Department Mandeep Kaur.
Member of Legislative Assembly Yudhvir Sethi and CEO of Jammu Smart City Limited Devansh Yadav were also present on the occasion.
