TASK organises road show in Kolkata to promote Kashmir tourism
Srinagar, Jul 11: In a m.ajor promotional outreach to revive tourism in the Valley, the Travel Agents Society of Kashmir (TASK) on Thursday organised a high-profile road show as part of the Travel and Tourism Fair (TTF) Kolkata. The event was held at Hotel Taj Bengal and was formally inaugurated by the Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah.
The road show, which comes in the wake of the recent tragic incident in Pahalgam, was seen as a timely and strategic move to restore confidence among domestic tourists and tourism stakeholders. The initiative aimed to send a strong message that Kashmir remains open, safe, and welcoming for travellers.
Top dignitaries from the travel and hospitality sector of Jammu and Kashmir participated in the event, engaging with their counterparts from Eastern India to promote Kashmir’s tourism potential. Destination presentations, cultural showcases, and business networking were key highlights of the event.
Speaking to Greater Kashmir, TASK President Muhammad Ibrahim Siah termed the road show a major success. “This was a crucial opportunity to reconnect with the travel fraternity and reassure them about Kashmir’s readiness to host tourists. We thank Chief Minister Omar Abdullah for his strong support and personal presence,” he said.
TASK also announced that similar road shows and promotional events will be held across major Indian cities in the coming months as part of a sustained campaign to bring Kashmir tourism back on track.
