Tarun Chugh condoles Mushtaq Bukhari’s demise
Jammu, Oct 2: BJP National General Secretary and party incharge for Jammu Kashmir, Tarun Chugh, today expressed grief over the sudden demise of BJP candidate from Surankote, Syed Mushtaq Ahmed Bukhari.
The 75-year-old Bukhari passed away on Wednesday morning due to a heart attack. “He spent his entire life fighting for the rights of the Pahari communities and resigned from the NC in disappointment after Farooq Abdullah disagreed on including the Pahari communities in the Scheduled Tribes list,” Chugh said in a statement.
Expressing his condolences, the BJP leader said, “Demise of Mushtaq Bukhari is not only a loss for the BJP but for the entire Pahari community of Jammu and Kashmir. He was a lively person who dedicated his whole life fighting for the rights of the Pahari people. He was the messiah of the Pahari communities.”
Chugh added that Bukhari’s passing is a personal loss for him. “Whenever he met, he would engage in deep discussions about the development, peace, and mainstreaming of the Pahari communities in Jammu and Kashmir. I always learnt a lot from him. Bukhari sahib was a person who devoted his entire life to the interests of the Pahari people, “ the BJP leader said.
