Tarun Bajaj appointed ED of PGCIL’s northern region

Srinagar, Sep 26: Tarun Bajaj has assumed the role of Executive Director for the Northern Region Transmission System-II (NRTS-II) at Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL) in Jammu. In this capacity, Bajaj will oversee central transmission projects across Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, parts of Haryana, and the Union Territories of Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, and Chandigarh.

Bajaj continues to serve as Executive Director of NRTS-I in Faridabad, having previously held the position of Executive Director for the Southern Region Transmission System-II in Bengaluru.

With a career spanning over 35 years in India’s power transmission and distribution sector, Bajaj joined NHPC in 1989 after a brief stint in the private sector. He transitioned to PGCIL in 1991, where he has since developed extensive expertise in EHV transmission asset management, design and engineering, project management, and finance.

Throughout his tenure, Bajaj has held various technical and senior administrative positions, showcasing his comprehensive knowledge of the industry. His experience extends internationally, having undertaken prestigious consultancy assignments in foreign countries.
