Tarigami condemns rise in militant activities in J&K
Srinagar, Nov 03: CPI(M) senior leader and MLA Kulgam, Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami Sunday condemned rise in militant activities across Jammu and Kashmir. He urged Government of India to take elected government and legislators of J&K on board to normalize the situation.
Speaking to media, MLA Kulgam Tarigami said that militant activities were recorded not only after elected government, but such attacks happened before as well. He said the Jammu belt witnessed many incidents in recent past. “However as far as security affairs are concerned it is being monitored by Lieutenant Governor himself. We anticipate such acts should come to an end and peace will prevail soon,” he said.
He however expressed regret over the current situation, stating that the people of Jammu and Kashmir now desire peace.
“The violent activities are regrettable. It is the responsibility of Government of India to take elected government of J&K and legislators into confidence for lasting peace, as without them the situation cannot be handled well,” he said.
He believed that the incumbent government will give attention on issues prioritized in election manifesto, and hoped the collective efforts of the government will ensure relief to people of Jammu and Kashmir”.
