Srinagar, Nov 12: The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference Chief Spokesperson Tanvir Sadiq has expressed deep concern and strong objection to the recent directive that categorises Kashmiris and foreigners in the same bracket, said a party press release.

Tanvir stated that while investigations and legal processes must continue to ensure accountability, “such an order is ill-conceived and will only result in unnecessary harassment of innocent Kashmiris across the country, including in Gurugram and other regions.”

He emphasised that Kashmiris are proud citizens of India and must never be treated as outsiders in their own country. Clubbing them with foreigners is both absurd and unfortunate, and it not only endangers innocent lives but also raises serious concerns about the manner in which citizens of Jammu & Kashmir are being perceived and treated elsewhere in India. Tanvir reiterated that unity, equality, and mutual respect are the pillars of India’s democracy, and any directive that undermines these values must be withdrawn without delay. Tanvir has urged the concerned authorities to immediately revoke the directive and ensure that the rights, dignity, and safety of all Kashmiri citizens are upheld.
