‘Take targeted attack cases on slain cops to logical conclusion’

DGP chairs officers meeting to review J&K Police’s welfare measures

Jammu, Dec 2: Director General of Police (DGP) Rashmia Ranjan Swain Saturday stressed taking to a logical conclusion the criminal case regarding the targeted attacks on slain cops.

A statement of J&K Police issued here said that chairing the meeting of officers to review the J&K Police’s efforts and welfare measures for the families of slain cops at Police Headquarters here, the DGP directed for providing quality education to the wards of fallen cops at Police Public Schools.

“Put your heart and soul together to identify the issues and problems, if any, being faced by the families of J&K Police martyrs and submit them to Police Headquarters within a stipulated time and also rejuvenate the services dedicated to the welfare of these families,” Swain told the senior Police officers.

He said that the fallen cops and their families were part of the J&K Police family and J&K Police was duty-bound to take care of their families in every respect.

“It has to be our primary responsibility to see how these families are doing,” the DGP said. “We have to see what additional care could be extended for these families.”

He directed the officers to put heart and soul together to identify the issues and problems, if any, being faced by the families of fallen cops and submit them to Police Headquarters within a stipulated time.

Swain directed ADGP Armed, J&K, to send empathetic officers to connect to the families of the fallen cops.

He also directed for adoption of a family by individual Police officers so that an emotional bond was created between the families of the fallen cops and the officers which would help in taking care of the wards of the fallen cops empathetically.

The DGP passed directions for preparing the inspiring stories of the fallen J&K Police cops.

“It is not the help and assistance that matters but connecting with these families including the parents of the fallen heroes is more important,” he said.

Swain passed directions for connecting with each member of the families of the fallen cops and spending quality time with them the way they spend with their family members.

“While interacting we may also find some inspiring stories of our fallen heroes,” he said. “Martyr families should be assured that institutional strength of J&K Police is behind them.”

The DGP also enquired about the functioning of the Sevara Scheme and helpline services for the families of the fallen cops operational at district levels.
