Srinagar, Jan 12: The Travel Agents Association of Kashmir (TAAK) is set to host Tourism Road Show and B2B Networking Meet in Chennai on February 6. This initiative, aimed at promoting the diverse tourism potential of Jammu, Kashmir, and Ladakh in the southern region of India, will feature an engaging lineup of presentations and interactions to foster collaboration within the travel industry.

The road show will witness the participation of over 300 travel agents from Tamil Nadu, who will have the opportunity to engage with approximately 30 leading TAAK members. These members, representing a range of travel services and products, will showcase both popular and offbeat destinations across Jammu, Kashmir, and Ladakh. The event will provide a platform for one-on-one B2B networking sessions, enabling the exchange of ideas, expertise, and business opportunities in the tourism sector.

Key highlights of the road show include detailed presentations on the emerging and lesser-known and offbeat destinations like Gurez, Kupwara, Bangus, Baderwah, Wardwan, in Jammu and Kashmir. Discussions will also revolve around the immense potential of adventure tourism, such as trekking, skiing, mountain biking, and river rafting, that the region has to offer. Speaking on the occasion, President TAAK Rauf Tramboo emphasised, that “With the upcoming season on the horizon, it is crucial to expand Kashmir’s presence in southern markets, and Tamil Nadu offers an excellent platform for promoting the scenic beauty and unique experiences of our region. This road show aims to create lasting business relationships and foster awareness of the wide array of tourism products available across Jammu, Kashmir, and Ladakh.”

In addition to the Chennai road show, TAAK members will also participate in South Asia’s largest travel event, the Outbound Travel Market (OTM) Mumbai, before heading to cities such as Coimbatore, Bangalore, and New Delhi to attend SATTE. At these cities, TAAK will engage in promotional activities, strengthening the region’s tourism outreach across India.

The road show is expected to significantly boost tourist arrivals from the southern part of the country, further enhancing Kashmir’s image as a year-round tourism destination.
