T20 Cricket Tournament begins at KU
Srinagar, Mar 6: Kashmir University's Directorate of Physical Education and Sports started its sports activities with the 1st Amad e Ramdhan T 20 Cricket Tournament.
A statement said that four teams comprising of teaching, non-teaching, scholars and students of the University of Kashmir are taking part in the competition. The tournament is the initiative taken by the Directorate to welcome the Holy month of Ramadhan.
Vice Chancellor Prof Nilofar Khan on her wishes to participating teams and congratulated the whole Directorate for such initiatives.
Prof Naseer Iqbal Registrar University of Kashmir was the Chief Guest on the occasion inaugurated the tournament.
Prof Naseer Iqbal welcomed the step of the Directorate in creating the sports environment within the campus. He further stated that the University of Kashmir is committed to developing sports at all levels and would like to see the university grounds buzzing with sports activities throughout the year. Prof Naseer expressed his gratitude to all the participating teams and was happy to see the Teachers, Employees and Students taking part in the event.
Director Physical Education and Sports Dr Mandeep Singh welcomed the Chief Guest and apprised him about the event. Dr Mandeep thanked the Vice Chancellor Prof Nilofar Khan and Registrar University of Kashmir Prof Naseer Iqbal for providing full support and cooperation to the Directorate. He assured the authorities that the Directorate would not leave any stone unturned for the development of Sports.
