SVEEP programme for enhancing voter awareness organsied in Gulmarg

Srinagar, May 8: Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Gulmarg Development Authority (GDA) convened a meeting on Wednesday which focused on the conduct of the upcoming massive Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) programme.

The events are scheduled to take place in Gulmarg on May 11 and 12 in collaboration with Hoteliers Club Gulmarg.

Initiated at the behest of the District Election Officer (DC Baramulla), the SVEEP programme aims to enhance voter awareness and engagement ahead of the elections.

“The programme encompasses a diverse range of activities including musical performances, a plantation drive, and sports events, all designed to ensure the event’s success,” the handout reads.

The handout reads that the meeting was attended by Tehsildar Gulmarg, CEO Baramulla (Nodal Officer SVEEP), DFO Tangmarg, Executive Officer (EO) of the Municipal Committee Gulmarg, District Youth Services and Sports Officer (DYSSO) Baramulla, Station House Officer (SHO) of Gulmarg/Tangmarg.

During the meeting, various aspects of the massive SVEEP programme were deliberated upon, including logistical arrangements, scheduling of activities, and coordination among different departments.

“Emphasis was placed on ensuring the smooth execution of the programme and maximizing its impact in promoting electoral awareness among the citizens of the area,” it reads.

The CEO Gulmarg emphasised the importance of collaborative efforts in organising the successful SVEEP programme.
