Surprise inspection of tourist vehicles conducted at Gund

Kangan, Dec 29: Acting on the complaints of overcharging and to address traffic violations, the civil and police authorities on Sunday conducted an inspection drive at Gund area in Ganderbal district.

The drive led by Tehsildar Gund Manzoor Ahmed and SHO police station Gund Lateef Ali witnessed the inspection of various vehicles including private and commercial vehicles. The focus was on curbing overcharging from tourists and ensure that the vehicles with anti- skid chains are plying as per the advisory issued by the administration.

During the inspection various vehicles were found overcharging or violating traffic rules. The officials asked the drivers and vehicle owners to ensure following traffic laws and regulations also follow advisories issued by the authorities to ensure safety and well being of passengers.
