Summer heat hinders Delhi consumer court proceedings
Srinagar, May 28: A consumer court in Delhi has adjourned hearing of a case until November with the observation that too much heat inside the court-room was making it difficult to hear arguments.
The court of Consumer Dispute Redressal Forum VII New Delhi put off the case till November 21, citing sizzling temperatures.
“There is neither air conditioner nor cooler in the Court Room. Temperature is more than 40 Degree Celsius. There is too much heat in the Courtroom which led to sweating as such it is difficult to hear arguments,” a coram comprising President Suresh Kumar Gupta and members Harshali Kaur and Ramesh Chand Yadav observed in its order dated May 21.
“Moreover, there is no water even to use the washroom, “ the consumer forum further said, adding, “Under these conditions, it cannot hear the arguments of the parties. “
While the Forum ordered to put up the case on November 21, it directed to send a copy of the present order to the Secretary-Cum-Commissioner for information.
