Successful load test of Chenab Bridge conducted
Jammu, Dec 27: The railway authorities conducted a successful load test of the world's highest railway bridge over the River Chenab in Reasi district on Friday.
The cable-stayed Anji Khad Railway Bridge is the world’s highest railway bridge and part of the Srinagar railway line.
By completing the missing railway track between Reasi and Katra in weeks to come, Indian Railway is scheduled to make Srinagar-Jammu railway line fully operational paving way for movement of train upto Srinagar.
Officials said that on Friday, a goods carrier train was moved over the railway bridge as part of a load test.
In the last few weeks, many other tests on this bridge and the Katra-Reasi railway stretch have been conducted, with the main focus on safety protocols.
Officials said that this goods carrier train, officials said, moved on Katra-Reasi railway track stretch on Thursday while on Friday it passed over Anji Khad Railway Bridge and the test was conducted successfully.
