Successful Flight-Test of Agni-Prime Ballistic Missile Marks Strategic Advancement
New Delhi, April 04, The Strategic Forces Command (SFC), in collaboration with the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), executed a successful flight-test of the New Generation Ballistic Missile Agni-Prime.
The test took place at Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Island, located off the coast of Odisha, at approximately 1900 hrs on April 3, 2024. The successful trial achieved all predetermined objectives, affirming the missile's dependable performance.
This validation stemmed from meticulous data analysis collected by an array of range sensors positioned at various sites, including two downrange ships stationed at the terminal point. The launch spectacle was witnessed by esteemed dignitaries including the Chief of Defence Staff, Chief of Strategic Forces Command, and senior officials from DRDO and the Indian Army.
Defence Minister, Rajnath Singh extended hearty congratulations to DRDO, SFC, and the Armed Forces for the flawless execution of the test. He emphasized that the missile's successful development and eventual induction would significantly enhance the operational capabilities of the Armed Forces.
