Srinagar, Sep 30: Green Valley Educational Institute (GVEI) Srinagar remained abuzz with multi-sports activities on Tuesday with the enthusiastic participation of students from different schools of the city.

The school hosted the Swasth Rashtra-Samradh Rashtra Cluster of block-level sports organised by the Ministry of Youth Service and Sports in Srinagar titled Mera Yuva Bharat.

On Tuesday, finals of different games, including volleyball, tug of war, and badminton, were played at the host school with the participation of around 200 students from six different schools.

Besides the participants, the students who had come to cheer for their teams kept the playground of GVEI abuzz till the last minute of the game.

The schools which participated in the games include The Legends School of Education, Crescent Public School, SSM School, Firdous Educational Institute, and GVEI Boys and Girls wings, respectively.

The teams of boys participated in volleyball, shot put and 200 metres, while the girls’ teams exhibited their talent in rope skipping, tug of war and badminton, respectively.

National Conference MLA Salman Sagar was the chief guest at the occasion and complimented the GVEI management for hosting such a multi-sporting event at the school.

“I congratulate the management of the schools for providing such a platform for the students of different schools to exhibit their talent in different games. Hosting such events is the need of the hour, as it keeps our youth away from substance abuse,” he said.
