Srinagar, Oct 9: As part of the civic action programme of the J&K Police, the police in Kulgam flagged off a group of 68 students from the district, accompanied by 5 caretakers, for a week-long Bharat Darshan tour 2023-24.

The tour is organised by Kulgam Police, which is providing all boarding and lodging facilities, round-trip air tickets, and other logistical support.

The flag-off ceremony was held at DPL Kulgam, where SSP Kulgam Sahil Sarangal, ASP Kulgam  Tanveer Ahmad, DySP DAR Kulgam, and other senior officers of the J&K Police were present.

While interacting with the selected youth from different parts of Kulgam, SSP Kulgam emphasised that the Bharat Darshan Tour aims to give the district's youth an opportunity to appreciate India's unity amidst its immense diversity. He encouraged them to take advantage of this opportunity to enrich their knowledge by visiting historical sites and marvels across the country. He also noted that this initiative by the J&K Police seeks to expose the youth to exciting tourist destinations, historical landmarks, and industrial units. He urged the students to embrace the greatness of the country and to create lasting memories during the tour, wishing them a safe and transformative experience.

During the tour, the students will visit the cities of Delhi and Bangalore, participating in city tours that include visits to various historical sites, monuments, and parks. AC hotels and coaches will be provided for accommodation and sightseeing. Each student will receive a kit containing a customized tracksuit, a pair of shoes, socks, a cap, and a carry bag. A guide will accompany the group to highlight the significance of various locations and make the trip both educational and informative.

Parents and students praised the J&K Police for this initiative and expressed their gratitude for the opportunity to visit popular cities in the country.
