The school located on a hillock does not have a road, instead students have to climb a stair to reach the school. "The deplorable condition of the stairs has been giving us tough times for the last several years, but we don't know why the concerned authorities are watching our miseries as mute spectators and doing nothing with regard to repairing it," they added.

"Several steps have in fact completely damaged making it hard for us to reach school," said one of the students.

"The gap between steps is considerably more than the set pattern, thereby making it hard for students and teachers to climb the stairs. We have brought this into the notice of concerned officials numerous times but to no avail," said a teacher.

The students have appealed Additional Deputy Commissioner Handwara Aziz Ahmad Rather to look into the matter so that the hardships being faced by them may end.
