Strong winds blow off rooftop of masjid in Sopore

Sopore, Sep 25: Panic gripped the residents of Naseem Bagh M.E.T road Sopore on Thursday evening when strong winds accompanied by showers of rain blew off the rooftop of a local masjid, causing significant damage to the structure.

According to locals, the incident occurred suddenly as gusty winds swept across the area, lifting and toppling the roof. Fortunately, no casualties were reported as the mosque was empty at the time of the mishap. However, the incident left residents alarmed, with many rushing to the site to assess the damage and ensure safety.

The strong winds, coupled with intermittent rainfall, were reported from several parts of North Kashmir, disrupting normal life and causing minor damages in certain areas.
