STRENGTHENING OF ELECTRONICS MANUFACTURING ECOSYSTEM | First electronic manufacturing cluster to be set up in Leh
Kargil, Dec 21: As part of its objective to strengthen the electronics manufacturing ecosystem in Ladakh union territory, the administration is going to set up first electronic manufacturing cluster (EMC) in Leh.
As UT Ladakh takes strides towards a tech-centric future, the initiative is poised to contribute significantly to the region's overall development and position it as a frontrunner in the realm of electronic manufacturing, officials said.
In this regard, the Administrative Secretary of Information Technology, UT Ladakh, Amit Sharma chaired a meeting dedicated to the establishment of an electronic manufacturing cluster, at the Civil Secretariat, Leh on Thursday.
Officials said that a comprehensive virtual presentation by the consultant agency was made providing detailed insights into the proposed electronic manufacturing clusters in the nation. The presentation covered important aspects such as infrastructure, technology, and the overall vision for the project. Secretary IT Ladakh emphasising the strategic importance of the initiative, articulated the need for the seamless functioning of the electronic manufacturing unit in UT Ladakh. He underscored the role, this initiative would play, in advancing the region's technological capabilities and creating a robust ecosystem for innovation.
During the meeting, Sharma called upon the consultant agency to propose a detailed timeline for the setup of the electronic manufacturing cluster in Ladakh. He highlighted the significance of adhering to a structured timeline to ensure the project's timely implementation and success. He stated that the establishment of an electronic manufacturing cluster here holds promise for fostering economic growth, creating employment opportunities, and positioning UT Ladakh as a hub for cutting-edge technology.
