Srinagar, Aug 19: Residents of Rawalpora have expressed concern over growing population of stray dogs saying these canines pose risk to them.

A delegation from the area said that the stray dogs are mainly present at an open garbage dump on main road. “These dogs chase pedestrians, two-wheelers, and cars. This poses risk of accidents. There is also a bus stop adjacent to the garbage dump and the presence of stray dogs poses risk to passengers, especially students,” they said.

The locals said a pungent smell emanates from the open garbage dump. “SMC authorities should place closed dumpers at the site,” they said.
