Jammu, Dec 13:DIG Jammu-Samba-Kathua (JSK) range Shiv Kumar Sharma Saturday stressed the importance of stepping up vigilance and security in the border district(s) to prevent any attempts at infiltration, drone dropping, and the movement of anti-national elements.

He issued these directions  while reviewing the current security situation in the border district of Kathua.

DIG JSK range, accompanied by SSP Kathua Mohita Sharma, was chairing an intensive security review meeting at the Conference Hall DPL Kathua in connection with the forthcoming festival.

The meeting was attended by Additional SP Kathua Rahul Charak; DySP Hqrs Kathua Ravinder Singh; DySP DAR Kathua Ritesh Samyal; SDPO Border Dheeraj Katoch; DySP SOG Kathua Pushpa; SHO Kathua, Lakhanpur, Rajbagh, Hiranagar, and representatives from PTS Kathua, IRP 19th Bn Kathua, Traffic, Army, Intelligence Bureau (IB), CRPF, BSF, CID, CI/CID SB, Fire & Emergency Service and the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) Kathua.

The meeting focused on infiltration at the border, security of vital installations including NHWs, regulation of drone flying, checking of vehicles with registration numbers from other states, and Dera movement.

During the meeting, all participants were directed to coordinate at the SDPO and SHO level and share information about interstate drug peddlers, gangsters, history sheeters, and bovine smugglers.

Participants were again asked to enhance joint patrolling, CASOs, nakas and check vehicles originating from border areas, especially in the early morning.
