Start up ecosystem

These days, not just in India’s other states, but in J&K also, there is a sustained focus on developing a start up ecosystem. Since government jobs are no more available as it used to be. The percentage of young educated people emerging every year from the educational institutions, not just in J&K but many of them come from universities and colleges across India, that can finally find a berth in government is minuscule. In such a scenario the only way to save our youth from falling into the life long trap of frustration is to guide them early on towards starting up their own businesses.

True, it is not easy to start a business. And then sustaining a business demands much more than initial enthusiasm and some capital to burn. The success of a business is contingent on a whole host of factors. But it needs discipline and a granular knowledge about the activity. That is where the idea of start ups comes in.

Our youth need to be trained on this early on. In fact our schools should also organise sessions on how to start business. From ideation to incubation to actual running of the business, there are many stages that our young mind need to know. If it becomes a culture, and our youth start in terms of applying themselves whole heatedly to pursue a business idea, no wonder we can change our situation.

The way unemployment is eating our society from within, there is no bigger service towards the society than to open up new pathways for economic empowerment. J&K is blessed with many natural resources that can turn into huge business enterprises. Our youth have the capacity and know how to establish good business houses. We only need right guidance at the right stage of our life.

Imagine if a sizeable percentage of our educated youth succeed in establishing impressive business houses, how much employment it can bring in its wake. The need of the hour is that government institutions and the societal mind work together towards this end.
