Standing committee meeting held

Udhampur, Feb 22:  Deputy Commissioner Udhampur, Saloni Rai, chaired a District-level Standing Committee meeting to discuss and finalize draft objections related to cases of state/departmental land encroachment.

Discussions centered on 13 cases covering various aspects, with a focus on addressing legal challenges affecting different departments. Tehsildars were directed to prepare draft objections, ensuring they are vetted by the District Legal Officer for subsequent filing in court to expedite case resolution.

Additionally, Tehsildars were tasked with issuing notices and conducting eviction drives against illegal occupants.

DC emphasised personal follow-ups by officers, prompt filing of necessary replies, and ensuring timely disposal of legal matters. The meeting underscored the importance of streamlining processes to accelerate resolution and promote overall district progress.
