Jammu, Mar 6: Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Reasi Mohita Sharma Wednesday held a security review at Ransoo regarding preparation for better crowd management and security arrangements at Shri Shiv Khori shrine, for facilitating huge rush of pilgrims during the Shivratri festival.

She was accompanied by Neeraj Padyar DySP Hqrs Reasi; AC ITBP Kamlesh Kumar; Tehsildar Pouni; SHO Ransoo and CC CRPF Shiv Khori.

During the meeting DySP Hqrs Reasi gave a detailed briefing on the existing manpower deployed in Ransoo and Shri Shiv Khori shrine and manpower deployed for Shivratri festival.

SSP Reasi took the stock of the security arrangements on ground in Ransoo town including a track where security was beefed up in view of the forthcoming Shivratri festival. She also issued necessary directions to the district police officers, civil administration and CRPF to keep vigil on the anti-national and anti-social elements.

The officer reviewed each and every security drill of the Shri Shiv Khori shrine, yatra route, safety and security of pilgrims visiting to pay obeisance to the shrine on daily basis.

SSP Reasi further stressed upon verification and census of migrants and workers in and around Ransoo town, pony porters and others in the towns to check the entry of any suspicious element in the area. She further directed to conduct checking of the hotels and other residential accommodations on random basis for verification of character, antecedents of the person visiting there.

The officer also reviewed the attempts to revive the militancy in parts of district Reasi; directed all concerned officers to revisit the list of OGWs of the Police Stations, monitor social media including Facebook, Whatsapp to curb the new pattern of radicalization.

She especially stressed upon the safety and security of huge numbers of pilgrims going to visit the shrine on March 7 to 9, 2024 in view of Shivratri Mela and directed the officers and officials to work with cooperation and coordination to avoid any untoward incidents.
