SSP Kupwara assumes charge
Kupwara, Jan 31: Shobhit Saxena, a 2015 batch AGMUT cadre Indian Police Service (IPS) officer Wednesday assumed office as Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kupwara following his recent transfer to the frontier district.
He was earlier received by the outgoing SSP Kupwara, Yougal Manhas along with other senior police officers including Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) G M Bhat, DySP Headquarter, DySP and DySP DAR.
Later SSP Shobhit Saxena had a meeting with officers during which he impressed upon them to work with dedication for the general public.
While talking to media SSP said that police across India have zero tolerance with regard to drug peddling and his endeavour would be to make Kupwara drug free district.
"I have come across the friendly and cooperative attitude of people in Kupwara. I hope the trend goes on during my tenure," he added.
Meanwhile, people of the district have expressed hope that the newly posted officer would work like his predecessor Yougal Manhas who has been transferred to Poonch after a successful stint as SSP Kupwara.
