Srinagar, Oct 16: Shri Ram Sena (SRS) and its J&K president Rajiv Mahajan Wednesday extended congratulations to the new J&K government.

Mahajan expressed optimism about the future governance of the region, while also raising crucial issues that have been of significant concern to the people of Jammu and Kashmir, said an official communique.

He emphasized the importance of restoring J&K's statehood, a long-standing demand since the region's reorganization in 2019.

He underscored that statehood is vital for ensuring political dignity and greater autonomy for the region, allowing the people to have a stronger voice in their governance, said the communique.

In addition to advocating for statehood, Mahajan also called for the reinstatement of the traditional Darbar Move practice.

"The Darbar Move, which was a biannual shifting of the administrative capital between Srinagar and Jammu had been a hallmark of governance in the region for over a century until its abolition in 2021," he said.
