In the last nine years, Tawqeer not only created his name at district or state level but has also made his mark at the international stage.

Given his dedication and passion, Tawqeer Farooq has become a formidable player who has won nine district championships, five UT level championships besides clinching six medals at National level.

The road to success was not a cake walk for him for Tawqeer. Overcoming financial hurdles and rigorous training challenges, he credits his success to his coach Muhammad Iqbal, mentor Irfan Aziz Botta, and trainer Suheel Ahmed, along with the unconditional support of his parents.

"It needs rigorous training schedules. I faced financial issues for purchasing my equipment and to pay registration fees. But all these issues did not deter me from showcasing my skills," Tawqeer Farooq said.

He said that for him the dream come true moment was when he participated at the International stage.

"The dream came true in October 2024, when I donned the tricolour at the 8th Asian Pencak Silat Championship and won a bronze medal. This was a historic moment in my career," he said.

“My Trainer Suheel Ahmed has played a pivotal role in shaping my career," he said.

He said his parents stood by him through every stage of his life, motivating him to achieve his goals.

As Tawqeer is presently preparing for the upcoming World Championship and is aiming for a Gold medal, he urges youth to embrace sports, stating that it teaches discipline, focus, and resilience.

“This is the only platform which keeps you away from drugs and negative influences," he said.
