Dr Sameer Kaul, senior consultant surgical and clinical Oncology, Apollo Hospitals said that the event will bring together over 100 specialists from various medical fields including oncology, neurosurgery, and general medicine. Health experts and administrators from across the valley are also expected to attend.

The conference will feature two key lectures. Dr Kaul will deliver the first, highlighting the benefits of precision oncology and robotic surgery. He emphasised the importance of introducing robotic surgery to Jammu and Kashmir, noting its availability in other Indian states and abroad.

Drawing an analogy, Dr Kaul compared robotic surgery to custom tailoring: "Just as a tailor measures each part of the customer to create a perfect fit, robotic surgery offers precision in medical procedures." He outlined the advantages of robotic surgery, including reduced blood loss, minimal injury, and shorter hospital stays.

The second lecture, to be presented by Dr Sudhir Tyagi, Senior Consultant Neuro Surgery Apollo Hospitals, will focus on revolutionary non-invasive brain tumour treatments.

Dr Kaul stressed the conference's broader goal: to advocate for the introduction of these advanced technologies in Jammu and Kashmir's health sector. "We want to put pressure on the government to bring these modern technologies to our region," he stated.

The organisers have extended invitations to a wide range of healthcare professionals, including 100 senior doctors from the health department, expert administrators, and principals from prestigious institutions such as SKIMS and GMC Srinagar.

This conference marks a significant step towards modernizing healthcare in Jammu and Kashmir. By bringing together experts and decision-makers, it aims to catalyse the adoption of advanced medical technologies, potentially transforming patient care in the region.
