Srinagar set to witness glittering cultural event at Shashrang Season 14
Srinagar, Nov 8: Srinagar is all set to witness an unparalleled celebration of art and culture as the highly anticipated Kashmir Sufi and Folk Music Festival Shashrang Season 14 unfolds.
Organised by the J&K Academy of Art, Culture, and Languages in collaboration with The Kashmir Music Club Srinagar, this year’s festival promises an enriching experience supported by notable partners including J&K Bank, Kanwal Foods, Qaraar Studio Kashmir, Greater Kashmir, Doordarshan, and Red FM.
Mark your calendars for Monday, November 11, as the event kicks off at the iconic Tagore Hall, Srinagar. The Shashrang Conference 2024, featuring more than 50 renowned intellectuals, writers, scholars, poets, and legendary performing artists, will begin at 10:30 am. The festival, showcasing captivating performances by over 100 accomplished artists celebrating Kashmir’s Sufi and folk traditions, will commence at 2:00 pm sharp.
As the biggest music festival in Jammu & Kashmir, Shashrang Season 14 is set to offer an immersive experience that highlights the region’s cultural and literary richness. A key feature will be the exclusive screening of the video album Madanwaar, a tribute to Kashmir’s cherished folk art. The event will conclude with a grand award ceremony honoring icons who have made significant contributions to Kashmiri music and arts.
Adding to the grandeur, distinguished guests, including Dr. Farooq Abdullah, former Chief Minister of J&K, and Advocate Ab Rahim Rather, Speaker of the J&K Constituent Assembly, will grace the occasion with their presence.
