Srinagar, Nov 08: In a sustained drive to maintain peace and public order, Srinagar Police has launched coordinated raids and preventive action against individuals affiliated with Jammu & Kashmir Nationals Operating from Pakistan (JKNOP) and other elements involved in activities prejudicial to the security and sovereignty of the Nation.

A police spokesperson said that based on credible intelligence, multiple raids were carried out at various locations in Srinagar and adjoining areas and operatives associated with JKNOP were detained under provisions of law. Incriminating documents and communication materials promoting anti-national and subversive propaganda were also seized.

He said the searches were conducted at the residences of JKNOP and the relatives/associates of JKNOP, which include (1) Mushtaq Ahmad Zarger @ Latram S/o Gh. Rasool R/o Nowhatta; (2) Khurshid Ahmad Khan S/o Mohd. Sideeq Khan R/o Ganderpora Noorbagh; (3) Bilal Ahamd Beigh S/o Mohd Yousuf Beigh R/o Hudda Colony Allochibagh; (4) Gh. Hassan Khan S/o Late Mohd Sadiq Khan R/o Ganderpora, Eidgah; (5) Yawar Hayat Khan S/o Gh. Hassan Khan R/o Ganderpora, Eidgah; (6) Ab Khaliq. Bhat S/o Ambir Bhat R/o Gotipora, Sozeith; (7) Mushtaq Ah Lone  S/o Mohd shaban R/o Azad basti Natipora; (8) Mohd Asraf Bhat R/o Baage Mehtab; (9) Mohd Muzafer baba S/o Ab rehman baba R/o Azad Basti Natipora; (10) Muneer Ul Zaman S/o Mohammad Shafi Ganie R/o Old Barzulla; (11) Shabir Ahmad Khan S/o Abdul Gani Khan R/o Kursoo Padshahibagh; and (12) Mohammad Asif Khan S/o Ghulam Mohammad Khan R/o Kursoo Padshahibagh.

In addition to the raids, preventive action has been initiated under relevant sections of law against individuals associated/related to JKNOP,  which include (1) Muneer Ul Zaman S/o Mohammad Shafi Ganie R/o Old Barzulla ( related to JKNOP - Mohammad Shafi Ganie @ Saif Ur Rehman S/o Ab Rahim Ganie R/o Old Barzulla); (2) Shabir Ahmad Khan S/o Abdul Gani Khan R/o Kursoo Padshahibagh ( related to JKNOP - Mushtaq Ahmad Khan S/o Ab Gani Khan R/o Kursoo Padshahibagh); (3) Mohammad Asif Khan S/o Ghulam Mohammad Khan R/o Kursoo Padshahibagh ( related to JKNOP - Mushtaq Ahmad Khan S/o Ab Gani Khan R/o Kursoo Padshahibagh); (4) Gh. Hassan Khan S/o Late Mohd Sadiq Khan R/o Ganderpora, Eidgah ( related to JKNOP - Khursheed Ahmad Khan); (5) Yawar Hayat Khan S/o Gh. Srinagar Police reiterated its commitment to act strictly within the ambit of law, and held that all operations are being conducted transparently and with full regard to human rights and legal process.
