Ramban, Dec 12: Srinagar Jammu National Highway remained open for two-way traffic of Light Motor Vehicles (LMVs) and heavy vehicles though the traffic movement remained slow between Nashri and Banihal sectors on Tuesday.

Official sources said, “The traffic movement remained slow at various places due to construction works; the breakdown of a few heavy vehicles and due to single road stretches at Dalwass, Mehar-Cafeteria, Magarkote, Nachlana besides at other places due to poor road surface condition between Nashri and Banihal tunnels.”

They further said the free flow of traffic was disrupted due to the single-lane road and intermittent tumbling of shooting stones from a hillock on the Mehar-Cafeteria stretch of the Ramban and Nachlana Banihal sector in the evening.

Earlier during the day traffic movement was halted for some time near Mini Nest.
